First published in 1970, this is edition published by Punjabi University in 2009.  This is a new, hardcover book in good condition. Printed hard-board cover is bright but very shelf-dirty and corners are dinged as only India can do to a new book.  The binding is tight. Size: 9" x 5.5".  Pages: 258

This is a pioneering work where a systematic and scientific study of the Sikh ethic has been examined in a scholarly and academic modality.  His approach is detailed and has been carried out with a scholarly analytics but without compromising spiritual insight. Avtar Singh draws all resources, including the Siri Guru Granth Sahib, the Rehat Maryada, and Sikh history. He develops his argument knowledgeably and clearly, and presents a cogent and faithful overview of Sikh morals.
