Camp Miri Piri (CMP) was held this year in Espanola, New Mexico from the 10th to 13th of July 2013. The Siri Singasan E Khalsa Gurdwara in Espanola has been the site of so many Khalsa camps that the vibrations of the Guru blows in the cool wind and buzzes from the trees and grass. The high vibrations began the minute the sangat gathered in the Guru’s Name. Right away, we felt the joy of being together and I knew this was going to be one of the very best CMP!
Each day began with morning banis followed by Aquarian Sadhana. Then we met together on the grass for physical training, went to the Nivas for a quick shower, and rushed back for classes. The afternoon was punctuated with Shastra Vidhiya and the evening was crowned by the moving kirtan of the Chardi Kala Jatha.
The camp theme for 2014 was “The Spiritual Warrior Experience” – and the most inspiring teachers were there –Guru Tej Singh, Sada Sat Simran Singh, Jugat Guru Singh, Harimander Singh, Bibiji Inderjit Kaur, Dharm Pal Kaur, Guru Sadhana Kaur, and myself, Shanti Kaur. And of course, guided once again by our fearless Jathadar - Rajveer Singh Khalsa. The camp welcomed all ages and several father-son and father-daughter teams came. This camp is for anyone who wants to spend some focused time meditating, doing yoga, and connecting with people of consciousness in spirit of Sant Sipahi.
Camp Miri Piri (CMP) is a gathering in praise of Guru Hargobind Sahib that raises the spirit, opens the heart, quiets the mind, and set the soul on the path of freedom. Since the first camp in 2004 in Singapore, Sikhs young and old have made the trip, at considerable effort, to join together for this time of grace and inspiration.
