The power and majesty of the Sikh experience is difficult to explain in words. As Khalsa, we spend these few short days on the planet earth as the sons and daughters of the most noble warrior who has ever lived, the 10th Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh ji. The only way I know to share that experience is to share our history. It is not an easy history but one filled with hardship and endurance, betrayal and sacrifice. The more you read, the more you need to read because in the course of understanding where we come from, we ultimate understand who we are.
For the past thirty years I have been collecting books on Sikhism and Sikh history in pursuit of my own deeper understanding. I am continually amazed to still find books that enlighten me and books that enrage me. For the most part, I would say that I rarely agree with any author fully- and that before I form an opinion on a topic, I pick and chose nuggets of wisdom from a variety of sources. This has resulted in a large bookshelf, drawing from the wisdom of many saints and scholars.
I am a wife, a mother, and a grandmother as well as a professional business woman. For most of my life, I have studied Sikhism under the guidance of Siri Singh Sahib Bhai Sahib Harbhajan Singh Khalsa Yogiji. To him I owe the great debt of inspiration and support on the path of consciousness. Now I try to repay that debt in some small way by supporting others.
I hope you enjoy browsing through the books. If I can serve you in any way, please don't hesitate to ask.
Wahe Guru Ji Ka Khalsa! Wahe Guru Ji Ki Fateh!
