There are very few historical fictions written about Sikhs, and few still that capture the spirit of Sikhi more than Bhai Vir Singh's "Bijai Singh", and sister book "Sundri". This story is built around the heroic figure of Bijai Singh, a fictitious character, whose spiritual integrity reflects the SIkh people, its inspiration, and way of life. It is set in the 18th century period of suffering and trial for the Sikhs. Bijai Singh is in every sense an exemplary character.
This book is suitable for young readers, and has captivated many generations of Sikh children.
