Published by Guru Nanak Dev University in 2000. This is a first edition, new hardcover book. Dusty Jacket is bright. Size: 8.5" x 5.5". Pages: 138
This book is a collection of essays published in celebration of the tercentenary of the Khalsa. Essays include:
Cultural Perspective of the Creation of the Khalsa - Mandanjit Kaur
Khalsa: Its Role and Relevance - Prof. Gurdarshan Singh Dhillon
Raj Karega Khalsa - Choor Singh
and ten more great chapters.
My favorite one is "Guru Gobind Singh's Address to the Baisakhi Congregation of 1699 on the Occasion of the Creation of the Khalsa" by Prof. Harnam Singh Shan. I know and have read in many books that there was a news writer from the Mughal court in the gathering who reported on the events. But actually there were two - and he clarifies and demystifies who they were and what they said. It really is incredible to read the actual translation of something that has been much quoted, and sometimes misquoted.
This book is a good resource, and a very good read.
