By the Grace of the Guru, I was able to deliver the invocation to the New Mexico Senate last week. It is a small thing, but it warms my heart stand in full Sikhi saroop in front of those who govern us. When you call upon the blessings of the Guru with a full and open heart, the effect is undeniable. The blessings do rain down on everyone. Today as I was reflecting on the miracle of birth taken by Guru Gobind Singh, I was overwhelmed with gratitude for having had just a glimpse, from a far distance, of this magnificent vibration we know as Guru Gobind Singh. I then saw Kamalroop Singh’s post for Sikh Dharma and succumbed again to those emotions! Kamalroop Singh posted a beautiful poem by Professor Puran Singh, speaking from the mouth of Bhai Nand Lal ji. I love books. I enjoy the feel of paper, the way that words dance across paper, and the slightly musty smell of bookshelf dust. Don’t misunderstand me – I appreciate and utilize my Kindle everyday. But the books in my library hold a different energy and presence that e-books can never have.
